Y5/6 Oakwell Hall

On Wednesday 9th October, class 5/6 MA took a step back in time to the Tudor period. We had a fantastic day at Oakwell Hall taking on the roles as servants for Master and Mistress Batt. Whilst we were there we took part in lots of activities including: helping in the kitchen, quill pen writing, sketching, learning about Tudor artefacts, making lavender bags, taking part in a tour of the house and eating a Tudor meal. We also tried our very best to use some of the language spoken in Tudor times for example aye mistress. A great day was had by all!

5/6 DE had an amazing time at Oakwell Hall on Monday 7th October. The children imagined that they were a company of servants looking for work. They tried to use some of the language that was used in Tudor times like- aye Mistress and nay Mistress.
We had an interesting tour of the house and took part in 5 activities: making herb bags; helping in the kitchen; learning about different Tudor artefacts, sketching and quill writing. The children enjoyed a Tudor meal and loved playing hide and seek in the garden. Everyone looked great in their Tudor costumes and agreed that the real life of a servant was not for them!!!!
