Y2 and Y6 we have worked with Slazenger's tennis club in Horbury to learn some basic tennis skills. They are running Easter tennis camps. We have learnt the forehand shot and really impressed the coach with our skills!
Upper Foundation have enjoyed their gymnastic sessions this half term. We have been learning how to perform a log roll and how to keep our bodies tense and stretched when rolling. We have also been learning how to perform a range of gymnastic shapes such as tuck, star, pike and dish.
Y1 had their very first Hockey lesson. They played a game of copy my leader, then worked with partners to teach each other how to hold the hockey stick correctly. Then they played a game following each other getting points by touching the cones. We loved Mr McKenna's top tips and they can't wait for the next lesson.
Year 4 have chilled out with weekly Yoga sessions. We have learnt a variety of poses including the dolphin, mermaid, rainbow and frog.
Year 4 have enjoyed their netball lessons this half term. They have used some transferable skills and improved on passing, finding space and shooting.
Y3 have been working on OAA (outdoor and adventurous activities) in PE. We have been drawing maps and navigating through directions.
We have enjoyed performing actions and movements to music.
Y2 have been learning a new sport of dodgeball! We started by learning the key skill of throwing a ball. We had so much fun!
In PE, we have begun creating sequences in our Gymnastic lessons. Working in small groups we have tried to incorporate: balances, counter-balances, jumps and show unison.
