This year we kicked off Safer Internet Day (SID) with a competition. We asked the children to complete a picture of their ‘Online Life’. We were blown away by the entries and the Digital Leaders had the hard job of picking the winners.
Y1 talked about what information was safe to share online and what information should be kept private. The children thought very carefully about why certain things shouldn't be shared. Please talk about this with your children. We read a great story about Digiduck. You can read it with them too... https://www.childnet.com/resources/digiduck-stories/digiduck-and-the-magic-castle/
| Digiduck and the Magic Castle | Childnet The fourth story in the Digiduck® series, focussing on playing games online. Other themes within the book include peer pressure, password sharing, and in-app purchasing. www.childnet.com |
The children have designed posters about internet safety. They are giving advice to 'Mike' (the chosen name of 3 Maple).
Year 4 showed off their knowledge of online games and advised an alien on how to develop good online relationships. They also sent in some fabulous ‘My Life Online’ competition entries.
Year 5 designed emojis on Safer Internet Day to spread love and kindness online.
