Home Learning Activities

*** UPDATED - New Activities added below ***  (30th Mar 2020)

Week one of home learning completed! Well done everyone (including the parents!) I hope you are all doing your best and listening to your adults at home?

I am really missing you all and teaching you all so much, but we know that staying at home (if possible) is the best for now. For week 2, please continue working through your home learning pack, reading lots, completing tt rockstars and mathletics. I have added new tasks on time and money which is what we started learning about at school.

I would love to hear from you all to see how you are getting on, maybe you could tell me a bit about your favourite book you have read? I would also love to see some pictures of you playing outside, completing your daily exercise or just having fun playing inside.

Please email me on

Many thanks

Stay safe

Love Mrs Wilson

*** UPDATED - New Activities added below ***  (24th Mar 2020)

  • Read, read and read some more! Any books that you have at home will do. Write a book review to tell us about your favourite book. Who are the main characters? What happens? What did you like/dislike?
  • Complete all the 10 minute tests in Set B of the KS1 SATs buster reading book- take your time and work through them slowly

  • Practice your cursive handwriting AND spelling at the same time by using the common exception words booklet
  • Complete all the 10 minute tests in Set A of the KS1 SATs buster Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling book- take your time and work through them slowly
  • Write your own version of our story “Jack and the Beanstalk” or “Hansel and Gretel”. Maybe you could change the villain in the story, or alter the ending?

  • Practice your 2s, 5s, 10, 3s and 4s times tables (don’t forget those division facts either!) Log on to your Times Tables Rock Stars to help with this
  • Complete the Mathletics tasks we’ve set you. Get earning those points- you know how much we love to win!
  • Work your way through the mental workouts in your home learning pack

  • Research about the life cycle of a bean, and use the template to record the information. Think how tall your plant will have grown in the time we are away! Don’t worry- your teacher has taken the plants home and she is watering them.

  • Why don’t you show off your new ICT skills to your mums and dads by typing out an email to your teacher and tell them what you have been up to? We’ll be really pleased to hear from you.

Mrs Wilson:

Miss Newton:

  • Write a prayer about something that is important to you for a class prayer book- maybe it would be a good idea to pray for all the doctors and nurses who are working so hard to look after people who are poorly with the coronavirus.

Stay safe everyone and keep washing your hands! We’re really going to miss you all while we are having this extra time off. But before long, everything will be back to normal and we will all be together again. In the meantime- behave well at home for your mums, dads or whoever you live with (they won’t like being stuck in the house either!) and if not, Mrs Wilson and Miss Newton will find out!

See you soon.

Miss Newton and Mrs Wilson x
