We had a wonderful week celebrating the launch of our new school vision - St Peter's & Clifton School Spirit. The dove was chosen as it is a symbol of peace and love and it has been a symbol of the Holy Spirit in Christian bible stories such as the baptism of Christ by St John. We will be guided by the Holy Spirit in living out St Peter's and Clifton School Spirit in everything we do as a school community, pupils, staff, governors and parents.
The children were inspired by the dove and created a variety of art works. We held an Art Gallery in the hall and invited children and parents to come in and view it. It looked amazing. You can view the work here.
We held a special assembly and invited our school governors, Father Christopher Johnson, Bishop Tony and Rupert Madeley (Diocesan Schools Adviser). The assembly was led by the children and Father Johnson blessed the Vision.
In the afternoon, all the children gathered outside for one last surprise. Two white doves were released. This will stay in our minds for a very long time.
