Welcome back to school everyone! We are so excited to start a new year with you all. We just wanted to share a few details with you so that you know what is happening.
Swimming lessons will be on a Thursday afternoon for the whole of year 5. Please make sure you bring a towel and a suitable swimming costume. Please make sure these are in a separate bag so that they don’t damage anything in your school bag. The swimming pool does not allow any jewellery so please be prepared to remove it at school or not wear it that day.
Larch class will be doing another PE session on Friday. Please come to school in your uniform and we will get changed in school.
Spelling tests will be on a Monday morning and the new spellings will be given on the same day. Please make sure you practise these in your green spelling books.
English and Maths homework will be given on a Friday and will be expected back to school the following Friday.
Mathletics and Edshed work will be set as usual, and the passwords will be sent out shortly. Year 5 would like to keep winning these trophies, so let’s try our best!
Everyone is expected to read 3 times a week and we will be continuing our reading raffle.
On Tuesday dinnertime there will be a homework club for anyone who needs additional help or use of the schools ICT equipment. Our ‘Knit and Natter’ group will be starting shortly on a first come basis, which was a great success last year.
Here’s to a great year together everyone!
These are postcards that we sent to all the staff at Pinderfields to say thank you.
