  • Teachers Strike Day - 1st February 2023

Mon 23 Jan 2023 Kathryn Whitehead

There are 12 teachers in our school who are members of the Union that are striking on 1st February. These members do not have to give the headteacher advanced notice of their intentions and have not yet done so, but as a group of potentially striking teachers, they are meeting together at some point this week to discuss who will strike and whether they can give me 'head's up'. If all 12 teachers decide to strike, then it would be very difficult to stay open because of Health and Safety concerns. Teachers from other teaching unions who are not striking have been advised not to cover the duties of absent colleagues on the strike day. I will update you once the teacher union representative has informed me of the likely picture. Unfortunately strikes are designed to be disruptive.

With kind regards, Mrs Alison J Halley.
