Collective Worship at Horbury St Peter’s & Clifton CE Primary

What collective worship involves

Each day, pupils gather to:

  • Explore scripture and learn so we are better equipped to take action and let the love of Jesus shine through us
  • Praise God and give thanks
  • Listen to and talk to God through prayer, stillness and reflection

We believe collective worship is the unique heartbeat of our school. It offers pupils and adults the opportunity to encounter faith by engaging in conversations about God, both as individuals and together. We want pupils to leave school with a rich experience and understanding of Christianity, and we are committed to offering them an encounter with Jesus Christ and with Christian faith and practice in a way that enhances their lives.

Special services throughout the year

Throughout the year, we celebrate special services in school and at St Peter’s Parish Church, including Harvest, Advent, Christmas, Easter, Ascension Day, Pentecost, and our St Peter’s Day Mass. Parents, families, and friends are warmly invited to attend.

Further details about collective worship, including our approach, legal requirements, and the right of withdrawal, can be found in our collective worship policy below.
